Punkbuster Problem... Options

Hi all, I was curious if anyone would be able to help me with a problem I am having with PunkBuster.

First off, I already searched the entire FAQ section of the PunkBuster website and nothing so far has been able to help me. I have already tried reinstalling PunkBuster and also fully updating it using the PBSETUP tool provided by the PunkBuster website. PunkBuster is also enabled in the multiplayer options section of the options menu while in game.

Here is my problem... When I enter a PB server, I get kicked about 1 minute into playing and I receive a message reading: "PunkBuster kicked player 'PlayerName' (for 0 minutes): RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrB.exe initialization failed".

Any help regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Think this can help you...

* Download the latest version of PBSVC from:
punkbuster test program
* Disable your security software (virusscanners for example) temporarily (disconnect your computer from the internet if you feel this is unsafe).
* Run PBSVC and press the "Test Services" button. This will test all components of the Punkbuster Services, including a trigger to start PnkBstrB.
* Check if PnkBstrB.exe is now available in the "C:\Windows\system32\" folder.
* Enable your security software again if closed and add PnkBstrB to the allow list (described above).
* Make sure you have rebooted your computer.
