Hey im haveing problems with PB.

Last night i was playing quake 3 fine, no problems at all.

I loged out. And came back a hour later. At that point PB wanted to update. So i left quake and updated it from the PB folder in /quake3/.

After that i loged back in, and ever since ive been getting this error.

PB Error - "you have been kicked via punkbuster blocked o/s priviledges:50b"

Now i dont know why its kicking me, i was just playing a hour after the patch. Nothing changed on my computer.

I was acctally haveing this problem with Americas Army as well. Its telling me the same crap.

It cant be my system, quake3 was running fine. As soon as i updated PB all this started happining.

So could this please get fixed soon. I need to play quake3. Hopefully once you fix this problem in quake3, you can fix it in americas army. Cause im haveing the same problem there. AA was working, i updated PB and all the sudden it dosent work no more. Wtf....

QUake 3 was working fine. I was playing, and haveing no problems.

I go take a shower come back, and pb updates. All the sudden i start getting this error.

Acctally i just remember, i had restarted my computer last night, after i started getting this error. I was able to play Quake 3 for about 15 mins. Then it started giving me this error again. After that when i restart, it dosent fix it no more.

If there was something wrong with my computer, i would have already gotten this error. I played for months, No i played for years Since 2000, without getting this error.

Theres nothing i can do to my computer to fix it.

Im always logged in as administrator.

Theres nothing stopping PB from doing anything.

I dont have viruses, or spyware. I only use tiny firewall. This was never the problem befor. I disable this completly and i still get the problem.

I wrote a ticket btw.

Who else uses this computer? A firewall / apps like zonealarm can cause PB not to be able to oversee the entire computer and cause this to happen. I assume you have admin rights on your computer.

The best thing you have done so far is to submit the ticket.

My firewall dosent block apps unless i tell it to, futher more i have disabled the firewall and that dosent change nothing.

I dont run nothing else on my computer.

If something is blocking PB from working, then why is it PB connects, and lets me play for 10 - 15 minutes sometimes, with no problems, and then all the sudden out of no wheres, it kicks me.

That right there tells me that somethings wrong with PB. If something was wrong with my comptuer, why dose PB even let me connect to being with?

If i was a cheater, Why is it letting me cheat for 15 minutes befor it kicks me?? That right there proves that somethings wrong with PB. Its supose to be blocking cheaters, not letting them play.

I dont cheat btw, anyone who cheats is a pussy, im no pussy. I hope saying that aint breaking no rules, but its the truth.

Ok let me see if I have the sequence correct as it might be a clue.

You were playing ok.
Now did pb update and you get the problem?
Or was it after the reboot it started?

Some malware etc won't be active until after a reboot. Then it gives the blocked OS priv problem.

If it was after a pb update without reboot. Then perhaps a corruption of pb took place. Sometime pb can't correct itself with a regular update.
Delete these files in your PB directory and then run pbweb or the new replacement for pbweb EB just released.
Delete:
pbcl.db
pbcl.dll
pbag.dll
pbags.dll
Now run pbweb and join a server for 15 min.

On the part about playing for 15 minutes. Blocked OS priv should happen right away normally if the admin settings are wrong. Sometimes malware causing OS priv error will show up later for some reason. I don't know why. It's just an observation from reading posts..
Cheat detections however are run at different times so a person cheating could play for a while before getting nailed.

Anyway. Always note the message you get when kicked. Sometimes you may assume it is the same reason but could be something else as well. This could also help track the problem down.
Say for example. Blocked OS combined with key packet loss kicks. Could point to a network connection issue etc.
