I searched this thread http://www.punksbusted.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=153. Everything had been going fine until i tried to find local security policy. It is not where it is addressed to be. I do not have it under that menu.

I hate to ask an obvious question, but are you sure you're running XP Pro edition and not Home?

sorry i should have specified; i am running xp home edition.

That's probably why it isn't there then since the instructions for that particular part of the post are listed specifically XP Pro and for Windows 2000.

I admit I could be wrong, though.

Could anyone give me a run through on how to do that. I am an admin on my account yet I still get kicked.

Did you run through the spyware check in the same thread? I know of at least one case of that being the issue for someone running Home.

I used this and found nothing.

Download and run this file from any location, it will check for adware that stops you from being able to play on PB servers. The VX2 adware edits your user rights when it infects your computer, and many programs do not repair this when they remove it.

Click the "Find VX2.betterinternet info" button to make sure that you don't have this adware. If there are no files listed, go on to the last step. If you find the adware files, (it is usually 3 random named dll files) Select all the files found.

Press 'Delete These Files'.
The program will delete all files but one that will be deleted on reboot. Allow program to reboot. Once Restarted:

Press 'Guardian.reg'.
Press 'User Agent'.
Press 'Restore Policy'.
Clicking on "find vx2.BetterInternet info" again should show all fields blank.
If you have no adware files, just click on the "Restore Policy" Button

If you went through all that, plus the other stuff in the FAQ, and it still doesn't work, I'm not sure what the issue is..... hmm.....

i know ive been forum searching and this is the best one ive found, so i decided to post. I can only play on non-punkbuster servers, which sucks because most ive played with is 10 people with uneven teams, and lots is coop with the computer. Im used to playing with 40 people. So yeah, ill check tomorrow if anyone has posted to help me out.

If you don't get help here, start a ticket with EB, and they should step you through everything. And if ya don't mind, depending on what the answer is, it might be nice for you to come back and let us know what the problem was.

Just to double check, you pressed the Restore Policy button in the VX2 program?

Also, the user account you have must be an administrator and not a "limited user".

What is EB and ill give it a check, and yes i will follow up my post for others.

thought id give a follow up:

Ive talked to them alot and it still isnt working, but ill post what i did when it gets fixed. just thought id give this a bump.

I reformatted my pc and it was fixed.

I ve also had somepeople be disconected for this from my server.
