Appealing A Ban
From PunksBusted
This is the information and the procedure to place an appeal with PunksBusted.com. Please take the time and read this carefully. Appeals to Punksbusted are simply done as a public relations gesture and in no form do they represent an obligation to a guid holder. An appeal maybe ignored, closed or rejected for whatever reason or with no reason given.
The most important thing before anything else. DON'T post on the PsB forums about your ban. You're likely to be flamed and any post like this will be closed or deleted by our moderators. The second important item is to read this supplied link thoroughly, as it contains important information that applies to everyone including game server admins. Warning! Don't Download Or Test Cheats
There are three basic ban types. PsB only deals with one type of ban. So please discover what type of ban you have first before you open an appeal. Here is the guide:
1. Local Server Bans: This ban is only on a specific server. You will find that all other servers you can still able to join but not that one server. This situation is where an admin of a server has decided you are no longer welcome there. This is up to that admin and is not part of PsB's AMBL system. You need to contact the admin of that server or post on their forums. You need to deal with them directly. This has nothing to do with PsB or EvenBalance (Punkbuster).
2. PsB AMBL Bans. More commonly known as MBL Bans: These are the bans that PsB does control. These bans are all across our member servers. You may find that a significant number of good servers are suddenly not available to you and you get the same kick message on them all. The servers included in this list are privately owned, league or some official servers operated by game companies. The key point here is that all these servers subscribe to PsB's AMBL system. This is the ban type that you may file an appeal for here at PsB. PsB will not unban because your brother did it or similar excuse. PsB bans via the guid and not by player, nor are we concerned with who used it. PsB appeals are for you to show evidence of an error made by PsB or PB. It is important to follow the instruction below for filing an appeal. It is a ticket based system and not just simple email.
3. Global GUID or Hardware Ban: This ban type are the bans that affect all PB supported games. This type of ban are under the control of EvenBalance.com, the maker of Punkbuster. You must address those bans directly with Even Balance via their web ticket system. A list of the links for each game is supplied at the bottom of this FAQ.

PsB Ban Appeal System, HowTo:
Prepare first with the following information: -
Step 1:Your FULL GUID (type pb_myguid in the console to obtain it while connected to a pb server and after authentication by PB). This is NOT your cd-key and NEVER send your cd-key to anyone.
Step 2: Your GUID and/or the ban entry from the MBL. Or the Ban ID - This is an 8 digit hex number starting with V, S or L - e.g.V00007A02. (A GUID maybe checked using our RPI search feature on our website. Only banned GUIDs by PsB return a result with the ban violation information).
Step 3: Background on what you think has happened. Why you think it is a mistake. (Simply saying you don't cheat is insufficient).
Step 4: Any supporting evidence that shows the ban is in error.
Step 5: Email the whole lot to appeal@punksbusted.com with "Ban Appeal" and your ban ID or GUID in the subject line.
Important notes about step 5:
a) It is important that you not to change the subject header as you respond to each inquiry from PsB. Read the info about this when you receive confirmation of receipt of the email. Just use 'reply' (this is not simple email as there is an appeal system at our end). Ensure you check your junk, spam folders for responses, as some spam filters may place it there by mistake. You will receive an email once our system receives your appeal.
b) Make sure your email client sends in plain text. No HTML emails, (especially you hotmail and other free email users take note). Our system will not accept or read HTML formated emails. Test this on yourself to ensure before sending that it is in 'plain text'. get assistance from a friend if you are not clear on how to do this.
c) Do Not send ANY attachments unless requested. This means, do not send pictures or files. No attachments of any kind. They will be rejected unless first requested.
