PB Screenshot Antialiasing Bug, Weird lines in PB screenshots

This is a frequent query on our forums and commonly described as the "antialiasing bug". Below are some examples:

Antialiasing is a feature of modern graphics cards, used to smoothen the appearance jagged edges on 3D objects. Players who use antialiasing will often return PB screenshots with 2 "interlaced" images, resulting in the weird lines.

Interlaced images can be "de-interlaced" with many common image editors, for instance Adobe Photoshop or Paintshop Pro (commercial), or the GIMP (GNU public license). An easier option however (and another great reason to use this free utility) is orangepeel's SSChecker tool (both the standalone and browser plugin versions), this now includes the facility to de-interlace PB screenshots and is available from aliasfinder.co.uk.

By de-interlacing the example PB screenshots we get the following clean images:
