Q: What is PunksBusted and Auto-MBL?
Are you a clan or a league?
You want to use our renowned services?
You must have:
- at least one server running 24/7
- PunkBuster activated permanently
- server must be pure enabled (where applicable). SOF2 is an exception, but we strongly recommend it.
- a domain and web site for your clan. Freebie sites not allowed unless your clan is member of a league which supported by PsB (Supported leagues/ladders are: ClanBase / CAL / Enemy Down / ESL / TWL)
- an e-mail address from your web site preferably, else your ISP
(yahoo, hotmail, etc... are not advised)
Step 1
Register for the PunksBusted forums if you haven't already: Register
Step 2
Register your clan here: Application
Enter
- the clan tag or abbreviation
- the clan name
- in the admin #1 section, click on the magnifying glass and find your Punksbusted forum account
- your e-mail address (either your ISP e-mail, or preferably one for your web site, e.g. alias@myclan.com)
- enter your e-mail address again... please don't copy and paste - you only copy and paste your errors!
- your web site address
- choose your game from the list
- enter the server IP address and game port (also the query port, if required by the game. More help here: Query Port Help )
If you have more than one server, click the button: "Change numbers of servers" and add them in.
Finally, enter:
- the password you wish to use for your PsB account
- verify your password by entering it again
Click on Apply.
Step 3
After a few days once our team has approved or denied it, you will receive an e-mail with confirmation if you are accepted - click the link in it.
Your status here: http://www.punksbusted.com/cgi-bin/membership/rmview.cgi must be "ACTIVE" so your registration is complete and you can stream + use Auto-MBL.
ACTIVE = active, authorised to stream and use Auto-MBL
JOIN = your registration is awaiting staff approval
UPDATE = status of your account after you've changed something (same as ACTIVE in effect)
DENIED = application refused
VERIFY = an e-mail has been sent and we're waiting for you to click on the link
Step 4
Find the forum that's specific for your game in the PunksBusted forum list. Get the recommended config set for your game (pinned in the forum) and follow the instructions to install it to your server.
Generally, you copy the files from the recommended set to replace any in the PB directory on your server.
Don't forget to restart or enter into the server console (or by RCON), the command pb_sv_restart so that the modifications are taken into account.
Step 5
In around 24 hours, your server should stream (if you have your clan ID in your pbsvlog.cfg file etc)
To verify this: http://www.punksbusted.com/cgi-bin/membership/index.cgi Login > enter your clan ID and password for the account of the clan Membership > Streaming Status > the IP of your server must have a green indicator if you are streaming If the circle If the indicator is grey, you have never streamed If the indicator is orange or red, streaming has stopped

Step 6
Install Auto-MBL on your PC (often the GUI version for Windows). It allows you to update the ban list on your server automatically, and update the MD5Tool checks to find cheats. http://www.punksbusted.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18
Enter your clan ID and your password into Auto-MBL. Enter the path to your PB file on your server, the FTP login and password.
Using Auto-MBL, you can then update with the latest versions: -the ban list -the MD5Tool checks
Don't forget to restart your server or enter the command pb_sv_restart on your server console or via RCON to take into account the new MD5Tool checks.
To update the MBL, you can use AMBL to do this manually or set up AMBL to do it periodically. NOTE: The MBL will not be updated unless you take action.
You can also verify using Auto-MBL that your server is streaming.
