Running automblc as a Scheduled Task

In the example below I will take you through the step of adding automblc.exe to the task scheduler and have it running on an hourly basis.

Locate the scheduler (Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Scheduled Tasks)
 

you will be presented with the following: -

This is the task scheduler. Double click the Add Scheduled Task icon to start the process of addin automblc to the scheduler.

Start of the Add Task wizard. Click the Next button.

This is asking you to select the program to run. automblc will not be in this list so click the Browse button.

Locate your copy of automblc.exe on your machine. Select the file and click Open

The wizard now wants to know how often it should run the task. Select as appropriate then click Next

In the previous step, I choose Daily so I'm then presented with these options.
Fill the fields as necessary then click Next

You may be asked to provide a username and password for the Task Scheduler. You must provide these in case you are logged off when the scheduler runs.
Fill as appropriate then click Next.

The wizard as now complete. Ticking the checkbox will allow you to fine tune the timing of the task and how often it's repeated as well is properly setting the command line options.
Click Finish

You can adjust the command line options at this point.
Please refer to the manual to get information on the command line options available. You can also go to the console and run automblc.exe. This will then provide a list of the available options.

In the example shown here, automblc -u will simple perform a normal update.

In this page you can set how often the task repeats. Click the Advanced button to get into the settings that allow you to perform the task hourly.

When you clicked the Advanced button in the step above you are presented with this dialog. In order to have the scheduler running autmblc hourly, set the dialog as shown.
Click OK once done.

This final page has misc settings. Set as appropriate to your system then click the OK button.

Once you close the advance properties dialog you will see a line similar to what's shown here. This is now automblc running on an hourly basis as long as windows is running.
