What To Do If You Find A Cheater

This guide is designed for players who catch and/or demo a cheater on a server (any server).

First thing to do, make sure you note the date, time and last 8 digits of their GUID. You can use PB_PList in the game console to get this information.

Your first, and usually only, port of call should always be the server admin. Really it's their job to ban these players not yours. A good server admin will want to know about cheater activity on their server though so they should be very approachable.

If you can't get the admin for the server then this is what we call a "bad server". Cheaters know about these servers and often play there. For a concerned player, it's shooting fish in a barrel except there is no prize. Best advice we can give is avoid these servers. They will eventually die because of the lack of legitimate players or the admin will eventually clean house.

You will not be able to get this player banned here or in other anti-cheat sites. We don't accept demos (Find out why here) Even Balance won't accept your demo either. They will not do ANYTHING to ban this player. Don't bother wasting theirs or your time with this.

Some leagues might take your demo. Ask them. Obviously if the player isn't in the league there will be nothing they can do. Even if they are, it's unlikely the server admin would even run the league banlist anyway (if he doesn't care about cheating on his server, why would he bother with a banlist?). So again, you are probably wasting your time.
